The drone threat to aircrafts

Recent video tests carried out by a University of Dayton engineer reveal that even a small drone crashing into an aircraft can do significant damage.  These results corroborated findings published by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) in 2017 which found that drones cause far greater damage than birds of the same weight.

What is most important to recognize from this is the apparent gap in our abilities to counter this growing threat by comparison to the increasingly sophisticated modus operandi and drone technology made easily available to and utilized by our adversaries.
